Arsalan Abid

Arsalan came over from Pakistan to study Law. He tells us that the most enjoyable aspects of studying here are meeting a diverse set of people and having an extremely supportive system in place to utilise.

Aznam Altaf

Aznam is studying Law with Politics and here he tells us how one of the highlights of his course is being able to work with the Legal Advice Centre which has allowed him to apply the skills he has learnt to practical situations and in his professional work placements.

Aisha Bakhtiar

Aisha came over from Brunei to study Law with Politics. She tells us how she's been in The University of Manchester's Law Society since her first year. She's joined the main mooting competitions and has been a Law Student Ambassador.

Amaris Salsabila Malik Bawazier

Amaris came over from Indonesia to study Law. She tells us how she chose The University of Manchester Law School for its wide range of subjects and she particularly chose Manchester because she wanted a city and the metropolitan lifestyle that such a big place offers.

Alexander Brown

Alexander is studying Law with Politics and he tells us about his involvement with the Legal Advice Centre, as well as with the Black Lawyers Matter social responsibility initiative which is supported by the Chancellor of the University, Lemn Sissay.

Wen Yi Cao

Wen came over from Hungary to study Law. She tells us about how she is looking forward to going on an exchange for a semester at the University of Hong Kong. She says the experience will add to her CV and law firms are really looking for international profiles.

Cameron Cundill

Cameron is studying Law with Politics and tells us that the highlight of his course so far has been studying Public Law while Brexit and the associated ‘Miller case’ have been evolving. It has enabled him to really engage with some complex issues relating to the British legal system.

Priscilla Lim

Priscilla came over from Malaysia to study Law. She tells us Manchester has given her many opportunities that she would not have got by studying in Malaysia, such as the breadth of subjects to choose from. She also feels that studying in Manchester has helped her grow personally as an individual, learning many life skills.

Erica Martini

Erica came over from Canada to study Law. She tells us that moving far away from home helped her grow as an individual. She has thrown herself into her studies and has volunteered with the Legal Advice Centre as well as joining the Manchester University Law Society.

Lacramioara Elena Metehau

Lacramioara came over from Romania to study Law with Criminology. She tells us that Manchester felt like home from the first day. "It is a warm city which welcomes everyone regardless of their ethnicity, culture or religion." After graduating she would like to pursue a career as a Crime Scene Investigator.

Lindsay Florence Wanyoto Mutende

Lindsay came over from Uganda to study Law. She tells us that so far the highlight of her course has been the cases. She says the lectures provide in-depth detail. Lindsay likes the fact that Manchester offers foreign language classes and is considering taking up French as a member of the International Society.

Reni Oluwadare

Reni has really valued the careers networking events that run throughout the year and has been impressed by the University’s facilities. She hopes that her work experience, while at Manchester, will give her the edge in the job market.

James Perry

James is studying Law with Politics and during his time at The University of Manchester, he has got involved with a number of research centres and societies including the Miscarriages of Justice Review Centre (MJRC) and the Society of Current Affairs and Commercial Awareness (SCACA).

Prasanth Selvam

Prasanth was keen to study at a University that would prepare him for the bar in his home country, Singapore. While at Manchester, he has benefited from careers advice sessions and will take home fond memories of the friendly staff and Law Society parties.

Oliver Watts

Oliver is studying Law and tells us that one of the highlights of his time in Manchester so far was getting to attend the 2018 Pankhurst Lecture which was delivered by the renowned Lady Hale, President of the Supreme Court and an ex-Manchester Law School academic.

Mathura Yogeswaran

Mathura came over from Canada to study Law with Politics. She tells us that she chose The University of Manchester as it provided the opportunity to study two areas she's always been interested in. After graduation, she plans to complete the National Committee of Accreditation and become a lawyer in Canada.
