The distinguished reputation of the Centre for Criminology and Criminal Justice is founded on an ongoing programme of cutting-edge research and consultancy work.

Our members have carried out research and consultancy funded by the Home Office, Greater Manchester Police, Manchester City Council, the Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC), the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC), Nuffield, the Equalities and Human Rights Commission, Her Majesty's Prison Service, the Legal Services Commission, the Scottish Executive, the US Department of Justice, the Office of Fair Trading, HM Crown Prosecution Inspectorate as well as international organisations including the World Bank, the EU DAPHNE Fund, the Spanish Ministry of Education, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, USAID, EU, EBRD, UN and SECO.

Details of recent and current projects that we have been engaged with are provided below. Projects are categorised into five themes:
