I have just enrolled on the CPD Course, what do I need to do now?

Once you have received your University of Manchester ID number you need to activate your central IT account so that you have access to the University of Manchester IT network.

 

When can I access the Online Course?

Once you have completed IT signup, it generally takes about 24 hours for you to have full access to all University services.

 

How do I access the Online Course?

Once IT signup has been completed, you will be able to access the Online CPD Course via the Student Portal.  The Student Portal is a one-stop shop for course resources, email, library services and much more.

 

I have forgotten my password, what should I do?

Please visit IT Account Manager where you can re-set your password.

 

I have changed my password but I still cannot login, what should I do?

If you have any problems logging in, please email Leanne Tuite or alternatively, please contact IT Service Desk.

 

How do I access the Library?

Please visit the Library website where you will have full access to the library facilities including e-journals.  If you would like to use the library services on-campus, you can collect your student card from the Student Services Centre.

 

What is the VPN Service and do I need to install it?

The VPN Service provided by IT Services, makes it possible to gain full network access from off-campus.  When connected, your computer is assigned a University IP address and you will be able to access IP authenticated services as if on campus.  Although it is not compulsory that it is installed, it is recommended as it gives easier and quicker access to resources on the University network such as the library catalogue. Problems regarding the installation or use of the VPN service should be reported to the IT Service Desk.

 

What do I do when I have completed the course?

Please check that you have completed all the online quizzes. Once you have done this, please inform Leanne Tuite and she will issue you with your certificate.
