An important part of being a student of the University of Manchester is the completion of registration. This is the process by which we check that we have all the necessary information about you, confirm your status as a student and collect your tuition fees.

Registration in the School

Stage One:- Option Choices

All full-time and part-time campus based students are required to choose option choices.

University Registration

The first step is the process whereby you confirm your personal details and check the programme you have been entered on. You will also be required to read and agree to the University statutes, ordinances and bye-laws. The second step is the process by which you pay or agree to the method of payment of your tuition fees.

From 1 September 2009 you will be able to complete registration online, including the payment of your tuition fees, at any time that is convenient to you.

You must complete both the academic and financial aspects of this process before your status as a member of the University is confirmed.

Ideally you should complete both parts of the registration process before you arrive at the University so that all you need to do when you get here is collect your University membership/Library Swipecard (known as the 'swipecard/student card').

You are strongly advised to complete registration before Monday 21st September 2009.

If you are unable to complete financial registration on-line, there are several alternative options available to you:

Financial Registration

Tuition Fees 2009-10 for Home/EU and Overseas PG Students

Tuition Fees 2009-10 for MA/Diploma by Distance Learning

Telephone Registration

You can complete financial registration over the telephone during the month of September by contacting the Registration Helpline on +44 (0)161 275 2350. However, you will still need to provide us with your sponsorship information in advance of calling for your registration to be completed. The Registration Helpline team can also offer advice on your tuition fees.

Registration in Person

You should only register in person if you wish to pay by cheque or because your on-line account does not show the correct information (either due to an error or because you have not sent in a letter of sponsorship), or because you have experienced problems with the online registration system.

All Health Care Ethics and Law campus based students can register in person in the Whitworth Hall onWednesday 23rd September 2009 between 9-12pm.

Sponsorship information should be sent to the Student Services Centre (SSC) by late August 2009 so that your student account can be set-up for on-line registration.

If you are unable to attend University/Departmental registration on this date, please contact the C.S.E.P Programmes Administrator – Sarah Morton.

For further information as to how to complete your financial registration please refer to pages 8-16 of the PG Crucial Guide.

Sipecard collection

If you have completed academic and financial registration online or by using the Registration Helpline and you need a new/replacement swipecard you should attend "University Place" (George Kenyon Hall computer cluster) from 18th September to 30th September, 9.15am to 5pm , number 37 on your Campus Map.
