About Your Studies

Why did you undertake a postgraduate course?

I was working in Big 4 consultancy in Moscow and wanted to grasp a deeper understanding of international legal and tax knowledge used across the global network of offices for international projects. It would give me a competitive advantage as a professional and strengthen my technical skills.

Why did you choose your course and why did you choose to study at The University of Manchester?

Manchester courses had a widr scope of subjects that I was interested in; also the staff and the whole application process was very helpful

What did you enjoy about your course/research?

I enjoyed the academic atmosphere and of course particular subjects like International Financial markets, where we were taught by a practitioner rather than academics; we could get a real practical knowledge of the subject.

What new skills did you learn through your postgraduate study?

Developed research and analytical skills

How many hours you studied on campus and how many hours self study do you have to do?

I would say we spent a lot of time in classes, however about equally the same amount of time for self study.

What are your future plans and how do you think your postgraduate have helped you achieve them?

My degree helped me get a job in London and allowed me to stay and progress in the field I wanted. I am very glad I did it; I am very self content at the end of the day

Away from your studies:

What do you like about the city?

Manchester is very diverse, I suppose it’s the best side of it

What do you do in your spare time?

I travel and read, most of my time I spend with people I love

Finally how would you describe your time at Manchester University to a friend from home?

It was an interesting and useful experience, and of course I had my fun!
