International postgraduate students outside the School of Law's Legal Advice Centre

From the moment you arrive in Manchester and commence your induction in the School, you will find a wide range of activities ranging from political to cultural to social. We strongly recommend that you join the Manchester Postgraduate Law Society (MPGLS); they offer a huge range of events that will help to enrich your experience and improve it.

Teaching & Learning

Your degree will provide you with a rigorous grounding in your chosen field of study, together with a sound appreciation the theoretical and policy implications.

Law: the LLM degree

Students can choose to take the LLM programme with a free choice of subjects. This is new for 2010.

Students may however prefer to be awarded a specialised LLM degree in one of the LLM specialisms that we offer, which are listed below:

The principal law book collection is in the main John Rylands University Library, where there is a very substantial collection of books and periodicals. The John Rylands University of Manchester is one of the finest of its kind and one of the four big academic libraries in the country.
