Professional biography
Jennie has worked in the School of Law as a research assistant since January 2005 on an ESRC funded research project: 'Youth gangs in an English City: Social Exclusion, Drugs and Violence' with principal researchers Judith Aldridge and Juanjo Medina.
Jennie has recently started a Graduate Teaching Assistantship in the School of Law. Her PhD remains in the field of gang research but focuses on experiences of and problems with 'Leaving the Gang'.
Specific research interests
Street Gangs, Juvenile Delinquency, Drug Dealing, Violence, Subculture, Communities and Crime, Services that work with gang and ex-gang members.
Current research projects
- Research assistant on the ESRC funded project 'Youth Gangs in an English City: Social Exclusion, Drugs and Violence'
- PhD on 'Experiences of and Problems with Leaving the Gang'
Teaching
Explaining Crime and Deviance, Drugs and Society, Crime Prevention and
Community Safety.
She has also taught on Theoretical Criminology at Salford University.
