Information Technology, Law and Cyberspace
In recent years there has been a massive expansion in the impact of
information technology upon society, with the complex and still-
developing Internet environment facilitating the creation of new types
of criminal endeavour; providing new opportunities for existing
criminal and harmful enterprise; a fresh medium for he communication
of extreme sentiment and for abuse; and the support of terrorist and
other activities, as well as issues regarding privacy, security, data
protection and other commercial concerns.
The Information Technology Law and Cyberspace stream welcomes
abstracts from all areas of information technology law and cyber
society scholarship broadly defined for inclusion in what once again
promises to be a lively and popular conference stream. As previously,
the authors of papers presented can be invited to contribute an
article to a special issue of the journal ‘Information and
Communication Technology Law’ edited by the stream organisers.
Please submit abstracts of up to 250 words to the stream organisers:
Mark O’Brien and Chris Ashford by 31
January 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter. The stream organisers
would be delighted to discuss abstracts with potential participants
prior to submission.
