Constrution Law
For the first time this year, the SLSA conference will include a construction law stream for which contributions are now invited. Those from law schools and legal practice, as well as academics and practitioners from the fields of construction management and claims consultancy, are most welcome to attend this event. It will provide an academic forum for discussion about the many aspects of law affecting the construction process. It will focus, in particular, on the contractual aspects of the subject and on recent trends in alternative dispute resolution within the construction industry. The emphasis of the stream is likely to be on English law, and on the practice in the UK industry. However, in keeping with the international nature of the construction law discipline, studies relating to the law in other jurisdictions, and comparative studies of one or more alternative jurisdictions would also be most welcome.
Informal enquiries about the stream should be sent to Paul Chynoweth who will be happy to provide further information about the scope and format of the event. If you would like to participate in the stream, please send a brief abstract to him at the email address below by no later than 31 January 2008. Abstracts should not exceed 250 words and should include the title and a brief outline of your intended presentation. They should also include your name and professional affiliation and between three and five keywords.
