The Renold Building is #8 on the campus map; Weston Hall (where most of the accommodation is) is #11.

By train

There are three main train stations in Manchester: Piccadilly, Oxford Road and Victoria. The University of Manchester is located close to both Piccadilly main line station and Oxford Road train station, with Victoria train station a little further away.

Piccadilly station

Leave the station via the Fairfield Street entrance (where the taxi rank is), cross London Road, and down Fairfield Street which is straight ahead of you. Continue down Fairfield Street and the Sackville Street building is on your left. The campus is about a 10 minute walk.

Victoria station

Victoria station is about a mile from the university . The easiest way is to take a Metrolink tram to Piccadilly station, and follow the route described above.

Oxford Road station

Go down the station approach and cross Oxford Road. Then turn directly right onto Whitworth Street, and the campus is about a 5 minute walk.

 

By coach

National Express coaches serve over 1,200 destinations across the UK from the Chorlton Street Coach Station, which is a a short walk from the University.

Directions
Turn right out of Chorlton Street Coach Station onto Chorlton Street and walk to the junction with Whitworth Street. Cross Whitworth Street and the Sackville Street part of the campus is straight ahead.

 

By car

All approach routes are clearly signposted 'The University of Manchester'.

Most major airlines fly to and from Manchester Airport, which is located about 10 miles/16km south of the city centre, about 30 minutes from the university. It has a good transport links to the city:
