The University of Manchester is now ranked 34th in the world for Social Sciences, up 17 places from last year’s rankings. This places us 6th in the UK, with the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge taking the top two UK slots.

In the Business and Economics rankings we are placed 26th in the world, and 5th in the UK, with Oxford and the London Business School leading the way.

This year the THE also released rankings for two new subject areas – Education and Law.

For Law, The University of Manchester is ranked 28th in the world, and 6th in the UK.

For Education, we have been ranked 68th in the world and 12th in the UK.

The new Times Higher Education subject rankings for Education and Law reveal more diverse lists than the overall global league table, with institutions from around the world, not just the US, UK and Switzerland, making the top 10s.
